Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced Wednesday that all teachers in the city will be trained in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Sheikh Hamdan, who also serves as Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, said this initiative is aimed at giving teachers the skills and knowledge to help students benefit from new technologies, including AI.

The Crown Prince made the announcement on X (formerly Twitter). "In line with Dubai's annual plan to accelerate the adoption of AI applications, we announce today the launch of a program to upskill all teachers in Dubai in artificial intelligence," he wrote in a post.

He said that the top 10 teachers who effectively integrate AI into their teaching practices will be honored at the 2025 AI Retreat.

"Our aim is to create an educational system that equips our students with future-ready tools and provides an optimal learning environment supported by AI technologies. Investing in education is an investment in Dubai's present and future," Sheikh Hamdan added.

Sheikh Hamdan explained that the initiative is aligned with Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision for the future, emphasizing that the latter believes in preparing for what the future holds, ensuring the best future for our nation.

"We aspire to make Dubai's schools the best educational institutions in the world at leveraging AI solutions. Teachers are the backbone of our nation's progress and development and are key enablers in realizing Dubai's vision for the future," he was quoted as saying by Gulf News.

He emphasized that education worldwide will undergo significant transformation in the coming years with the introduction of new tools and unique learning environments based on augmented and virtual reality, along with updated curricula supported by AI technologies.

To ensure that teachers in Dubai are up-to-date with these technologies, Dubai will be providing top-notch training on using advanced applications and AI tools to automate tasks and personalize learning.

This initiative will include both practical and online training, with regular assessments to ensure the best results and achieve long-term goals.
