Manchester United, Liverpool Among Clubs Chasing For Moises Caicedo
Multiple teams are reportedly expected to join the race for the services of Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo of Brighton & Hove Albion.
According to the Mirror, the Seagulls could be ready to cash in on Caicedo although it would take a staggering £85 million for them to agree to a deal.
Among the teams linked to the 20-year-old midfielder include Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United.
After signing for just £4 million, Caicedo has been performing well for Brighton this season.
Joining hands with Alexis Mac Allister, the efforts of the two players in the middle have resulted in the Seagulls climbing up to the eighth spot.
While prying him away from Falmer Stadium would make sense, the hefty amount that Brighton is demanding could be a problem.
On the part of the Reds, a player they may have to move is Jude Bellingham.
As far as the Red Devils are concerned, it will be recalled that they tried to make a run at Caicedo in January 2021.
However, that all bogged down with Manchester United backing out a month before the January transfer window, allowing the Seagulls to swoop in the midfielder.
As for Newcastle, the Magpies viewed Caicedo as an alternative to Youri Tielemans, someone whose contract with Leicester City is set to expire next summer.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been linked to a possible move to Arsenal, especially now that the interest of Juventus has reportedly cooled down.
If not the three teams, Chelsea could also be in the mix.
Should this happen, Caicedo would be reunited with Blues manager Graham Potter.
This development comes months after the Ecuadorian footballer mentioned that he was happy with the Seagulls.
"I'm very happy here at Brighton," he said. "I'm not thinking about any other club than Brighton. This is the club where I am now and I will give everything for this club and to keep doing well here."
