The Abu Dhabi Pension Fund (ADPF) has announced a 41% increase in the number of Emirati women registered with the Fund from both the government and private sectors in Abu Dhabi up until the first half of 2024.

The growth highlights the UAE's dedication to empowering Emirati women in all areas of work. In a statement celebrating Emirati Women's Day, the Fund shared that the total number of Emirati women insured by the Fund has reached 61,408 since it was established, WAM reported.

This number represents 52% of all insured citizens in Abu Dhabi, a significant jump from just 11% when the Fund first started in 2000. As of June 2024, 39,791 of the Emirati women registered with the Abu Dhabi Pension Fund work in the government sector, while 21,617 are in the private sector.

The number of Emirati women in the private sector registered with the Fund has increased by 13% over the past three years, showing that more women are taking on different roles in the economy.

The Fund also reported that 5,350 Emirati women have retired, making up 30% of all retirees registered with the Fund. On average, these women served for 20 years, with most retiring at age 48, compared to the average retirement age of 55 for men, the report said.

The data showed a massive increase in the number of Emirati women with over 25 years of service, reaching 1,438 by June of this year. This reflected the strong dedication of Emirati women to their country, as they manage both their careers and family responsibilities.

The Fund's data also revealed that Emirati women are making an impact in a wide range of sectors, not just in specific areas.

The top fields include healthcare, social services and education, finance, insurance, and information technology. This broad involvement shows that Emirati women are now vital contributors across all sectors in Abu Dhabi.

ADPF stated that the remarkable achievements of Emirati women are what turn dreams into reality and form the foundation for the nation's future.

It highlighted that the strong support from the country's leadership shows women's importance in creating a strong and prosperous society. Their successes demonstrate their determination and deep commitment to the nation.

Last month, the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority (SSA) introduced the Marriage Loan initiative, offering an interest-free loan of up to AED150,000 to eligible newly married UAE nationals, who are employed and hold an Abu Dhabi family book.
