Officially Confirmed: Dubai To Host Games Of The Future 2025

The UAE has officially confirmed it will host the Games of the Future 2025 in the Emirate of Dubai in late 2025. The country was chosen to host the event at a ceremony in Istanbul last month.

The event is scheduled for autumn/fall 2025 and will highlight Dubai's status "as the world's leading hub for innovation, technology, and sports," WAM reported.

The Games of the Future is open to everyone, regardless of age, gender, or nationality. Phygital International expects the event to attract thousands of top athletes and esports players from up to 100 countries, competing in national and international teams.

This event of the phygital sporting calendar is so popular that the bidding process for the 2026 and 2027 Games has already started, with several cities across the world showing interest.

"There can be no doubt of Dubai's status as the world leader and a hub for the brightest and best in sports and technology," Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Director-General of the General Authority of Sports in the UAE, was quoted as saying by WAM.

In hosting the event, Dubai is "building on its platform of excellence and directing this towards being a key part of the phygital movement and this great tournament."

Al Hajeri further emphasized that hosting the event will "showcase Dubai's extensive experience in delivering world-class sporting tournaments, but also send a message to the world that Dubai is dedicated to growing and building a truly global phygital community rooted in innovation and excellence."

Nis Hatt, CEO of Phygital International, expressed excitement about Dubai hosting the Games of the Future 2025, calling this partnership ideal. Hatt said that players and teams worldwide would not only experience top-notch phygital competition, but also enjoy the emirate's unique tech, sports, and gaming culture.

The Games of the Future 2025 will feature teams from around the world who are currently qualifying through the World Phygital Community (WPC) and its Phygital Games 2024-25 season.

Dubai recently started the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033, which aims to attract top technology companies and talent in digital, gaming, and experiential fields.

This 10-year program will focus on developing the phygital community and supporting phygital innovation, while Dubai hosts the Games of the Future and more.
