The FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) is all set to return to Abu Dhabi for the second year in a row. This time, it will take place in December.

The event is scheduled for Dec. 4 at Etihad Arena, promising exciting off-road motorcycle racing with top riders showcasing their skills. The championship starts this year at BC Place in Vancouver, Canada, on Oct. 26 for Round 1.

The series then moves to Perth, Australia, for a double-header at HBF Park from Nov. 23 to Nov. 24 for Rounds 2 and 3. Abu Dhabi will host Round 4 and the season finale of the FIM World Supercross Championship at Etihad Arena.

This event will be part of a thrilling week of motorsport on Yas Island, where the 2024 champions will be crowned. Following the exciting 2023 edition, which impressed fans with its skill and energy, the 2024 finale is set to be even more action-packed.

Saif Rashid Al Noaimi, CEO of Ethara, the organizers of Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, said they are "thrilled" to bring the FIM World Supercross Championship back to Yas Island's Etihad Arena for its exciting season finale.

"Ethara remains committed to bringing the best events to the region and building destination event propositions, and with this addition to Race Week it continues to support Abu Dhabi's growing prominence as a premier destination for world-class motorsport entertainment," Al Noaimi said, WAM reported.

"For this year, we are offering regional and international motorsport fans the incredible opportunity of witnessing two World Championship finals in one week – with Yas Marina Circuit hosting the Formula 1 season finale just days later, as well as exhilarating entertainment at the Yasalam After-Race Concerts and Gulf 12 Hours endurance race," Al Noaimi added.

Commenting on Ethara's continued support for the event, WSX CEO Tom Burwell said they are "extremely thrilled" about the WSX Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this December. He noted that Yas Island and Abu Dhabi are top destinations for global sports, and returning there marks an important milestone for the World Supercross Championship.

Burwell highlighted that the season finale, taking place just before the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, will offer fans an unforgettable week of high-level racing action.
