Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, launched the Media Leadership Program to develop a new generation of media leaders.

This initiative is part of the Dubai Media Council's strategy to enhance the emirate's media sector. The program aims to boost Dubai's global media presence by nurturing leaders who can create impactful narratives that showcase the city's achievements and development goals.

The program is aligned with Dubai's goal of promoting sustainable growth and will help participants develop skills to lead teams and create media strategies that highlight Dubai's role in shaping the future of various sectors, WAM reported.

Sheikh Ahmed emphasized Dubai's commitment to supporting the media sector by enhancing its capabilities and expanding its contribution to the city's development. He also highlighted the importance of building partnerships with top global institutions and academic organizations to use their expertise in achieving Dubai's media goals.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson of the Dubai Media Council, reiterated the Council's commitment to advancing the media sector through innovative initiatives. She also credited the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for guiding Dubai's development.

Al Marri highlighted that Sheikh Mohammed's focus on competitiveness is driving Dubai to achieve new levels of excellence. She stressed the importance of ensuring Dubai's media message aligns with its strategic goals.

The first group of the Media Leadership Program consists of communication professionals from Dubai's government entities. The program aims to enhance their leadership and communication skills, enabling them to engage effectively with both local and international media and support Dubai's global reputation.

The sessions will cover key topics related to Dubai's growth and focus on government communication, including global advancements and best practices. Participants will learn how to lead government communication efforts effectively.

Nehal Badri, Secretary-General of the Dubai Media Council, said, "The first session of the Media Leadership Program will bring together 24 participants representing 20 government and semi-government entities in Dubai."

"The program features specialized sessions aimed at enhancing strategic thinking and leadership capabilities in government communication. These sessions will blend lectures, practical training, and insights from global experts. The program will include international visits to study best practices in the field," Badri added.

The program, in collaboration with top universities like MIT, George Washington University, and Columbia University, offers participants a chance to learn from global best practices. Visits to countries known for excellence in the field will enhance the learning experience.

Participants will receive certifications from these prestigious universities. The nine-month program is designed to improve leadership skills in government communication, ensuring participants can effectively share information about Dubai's initiatives and successes.
