The Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) held a press conference on Wednesday to share the main topics and key discussions planned for the 2nd edition of the "Mufakiru Al Emarat" Forum.
The event is scheduled to take place on Jan. 28 in Abu Dhabi. The press conference began with a video about the project, which was launched in January 2022.
The initiative aims to involve national academic and intellectual experts in the UAE's development, strengthen the country's soft power by supporting Emirati scientific research, and encourage intellectual efforts to promote sustainable development, WAM reported.
The project has progressed with support from researchers, specialists, and partners like Dubai Police, Abu Dhabi Media Network, and several universities, reflecting the ECSSR's belief that efforts come from everyone and benefit everyone.
Sultan Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the ECSSR, praised the UAE's tradition of exceptional projects and ideas, driven by the leadership's focus on investing in minds as the key to a brighter future.
Al Nuaimi shared that the theme for the 2nd edition of the forum is "Innovative National Ideas," with participation from experts, researchers, academics, and Emirati students. The forum aims to create ideas for a better future for the nation and future generations, driven by Emirati talent.
He added that the first edition showed that Emirati thinkers can offer creative and proactive solutions in various fields. The 2nd edition will continue this focus, reflecting the nation's and its leadership's forward-thinking vision.
The second edition of the event will feature 14 interactive discussion sessions on key platforms. These include the "Trends Session," focusing on future trends and Emirati goals, and "Fikr Majlis," where leaders, experts, and decision-makers will hold dialogues.
Other sessions include the "Researchers' Majlis," offering academic discussions to generate new ideas, and "Mufakiru Al Emarat's Lab," which brings together the Center's partners, youth, and academics for workshops to develop essential 21st-century skills.
Another platform, "Through Youth Perspectives," will host discussions that blend youthful energy with experienced insights to address youth-related issues and offer practical solutions for the future.
The event will feature 45 Emirati speakers, including experts, academics, youth, and specialists in various fields. Over 650 participants are expected to attend, engaging in a rich intellectual experience with innovative ideas on Emirati thought.
