Dubai Sports Council Chairman Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum along with Dubai Culture Chairperson Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated the Burj Rashid Exhibition at the Al Safa Art & Design Library.

The exhibition, organized by Dubai Culture under the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy and supported by the Sikka Platform, celebrates 45 years of Burj Rashid. It also marks the launch of the "Dubai Series" initiative, WAM reported.

The series will annually spotlight unique aspects of Dubai, sharing its stories through creative and innovative approaches. The first edition focuses on Burj Rashid, showcasing it as a symbol of Dubai's progress and prosperity.

The Burj Rashid Exhibition is organized in collaboration with several partners, including 7X, Al Bayan, Gulf News, John R. Harris, Art Dubai, and Four Seasons Ramesh Gallery. It is also supported by the Government of Dubai Media Office, the National Library & Archives, the Dubai World Trade Centre, and other government, semi-government and private organizations.

The exhibition features work by over 30 artists celebrating Burj Rashid as a cultural icon, including a poem, Burj Rashid, by Dr. Aref Alshaikh, author of the UAE National Anthem, honoring the ambition of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum and the work of architect John R. Harris and engineer Held, who preserved the tower's elegance.

Key artworks include Launch by Ali Mrad, reflecting on Dubai's origins and visionary future, and Nawal Ahmad Alblooshi's Rashid Pattern and Rashid Bauhaus, which merge Arabic traditions with design principles.

The REALIITY Collective's AI-generated piece, A Glimpse into Sheikh Rashid Tower, reimagines historic photos to bring the tower's history to life.

Other notable pieces at the exhibition include Sheikh Maktoum bin Marwan Al Maktoum's Remembrance, which explores the connection between humans and architecture, and Trade Centre Roundabout by Ammar Al Attar, showcasing the view of Dubai's Trade Centre building from the Etisalat building, reflecting the city's rapid growth.

Alia AlShamsi's digital photo series Burj Rashid deconstructs the tower's design to reveal hidden patterns, while Majedah Al Awadhi and Saeed Al Ketbi's Burj Rashid Collection transforms the tower's geometric design into layered, harmonious products.
