The UAE Aid Agency and the Government of Chad signed an agreement to build the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Hospital and a dialysis center in Chad's capital, N'Djamena.

On behalf of the UAE, the agreement was signed by Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, while Tahir Hamid Nguilin, Chad's Minister of Finance and Budget, signed on behalf of the Chadian government, WAM reported.

The agreement outlines plans for constructing the hospital on land provided by the Government of Chad, covering a total area of 11,300 square meters. Of this, 9,500 square meters will be dedicated to the hospital building, and 1,800 square meters will be for housing medical staff.

Furthermore, an additional 4,200 square meters will be dedicated to building a dialysis center, which will be equipped with advanced medical technology and equipment.

Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State and Chairman of the Health Advisory Committee for International Development, highlighted that the creation of the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Hospital and dialysis center in N'Djamena reflects the humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who dedicated his efforts to helping others.

It also continues the UAE's global role in supporting underserved communities and ensuring they have access to healthcare services. Sheikh Shakhboot emphasized that the agreement aligns with the vision of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to improve healthcare worldwide, especially in Africa.

He added that this initiative is part of the UAE's mission to help build capacity in developing countries in line with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency Dr. Tariq Ahmed Al Ameri emphasized that the agreement highlights the UAE's commitment to addressing humanitarian issues and promoting global sustainable development.

He mentioned that the UAE Aid Agency will continue its important role in providing vital support to countries in need, following the policy of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council (IHPC).

Dr. Al Ameri shared that the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Hospital in N'Djamena will have 11 specialized clinics, such as pediatrics, gynecology, dentistry, orthopedics, urology, ophthalmology, ENT, dermatology, internal medicine, cardiology, and general medicine.

The hospital will have 100 beds, three operating rooms, and three delivery rooms. He noted that the hospital will serve over 1.7 million people, while the 80-bed dialysis center will cater to more than 9% of the population in N'Djamena.
