Abu Dhabi's Global AI Healthcare Academy Trains 3,750+ UAE Healthcare Professionals In AI Skills
The Global Artificial Intelligence (AI) Healthcare Academy in Abu Dhabi has trained over 3,750 healthcare professionals from the Emirate's healthcare sector since its launch. Participants have completed programs aimed at improving their skills in AI and advanced technologies.
The academy is an initiative by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), which oversees healthcare in the emirate, in partnership with the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI).
This collaboration began with a memorandum of understanding signed during Abu Dhabi Global Healthcare Week in May last year.
"This initiative underscores the Department's commitment to empowering and enabling healthcare cadres with the latest knowledge and tools required to enhance the quality and efficiency of healthcare services delivered within Abu Dhabi," Acting Director General of Healthcare Regulatory at the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) Dr. Rashed Alsuwaidi was quoted as saying by WAM.
"By equipping our workforce with the latest cutting-edge AI technologies, we aim to further advance diagnostics and personalized medical management," he added.
The academy will be crucial in keeping Abu Dhabi's healthcare professionals informed about new advancements in the fast-changing field of AI. This will help strengthen the city's reputation as a top healthcare destination globally while ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
Sultan Al Hajji, Vice President of Public Affairs and Alumni Relations at MBZUAI, expressed pride in partnering with the DoH to launch the Global AI Healthcare Academy.
He highlighted that as a leading AI research institution in personalized medicine and predictive diagnostics, MBZUAI is focused on helping healthcare professionals provide smarter, more accurate, and patient-centered care.
MBZUAI is supporting Abu Dhabi's goal of creating an innovative healthcare system where AI-driven insights improve patient care and health management. This collaboration strengthens local healthcare and helps position Abu Dhabi as a global leader in AI-driven health innovation.
The academy aims to establish Abu Dhabi as a top destination for healthcare and life sciences while advancing its role in technology-driven healthcare systems. The courses are designed for both senior leaders and operational staff in the healthcare field.
The AI Healthcare Academy will create a skilled workforce trained in AI to improve diagnostic and operational efficiency, helping to enhance the community's health and well-being.
Participants will have the chance to take part in training on important topics like AI for radiology, cardiology, and advanced data analysis techniques.
