Dubai has been ranked the top city in the Middle East and Africa in the "Global City Index 2024" report issued by Brand Finance. With this, the emirate has maintained the top position in the region for the second year in a row. Globally, Dubai moved up to fifth place out of 100 cities in the Index, with a score of 86 out of 100.

Dubai held its top regional position, showing strong performance across all main indicators and reinforcing its economic leadership in the region. This puts Dubai ahead of major cities like Singapore, Los Angeles, Sydney, San Francisco and Amsterdam, which ranked sixth through tenth.

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attributed the emirate's success to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, WAM reported.

Sheikh Hamdan praised the efforts that have secured Dubai's position as the top city in the Middle East and North Africa for the second year in a row. He also celebrated Dubai's rise into the top five cities globally in a major international report comparing 100 leading cities worldwide.

This report reflects people's views on quality of life and opportunities for work, investment, education, and retirement. Dubai ranks first globally as the most desired place for investment and leads in expectations for future growth, positioning itself as a city that shapes the future many people aspire to.

Dubai has made massive progress in building a high-quality educational environment, earning top spots in the "Great Private Schools" and "Great Publicly Funded Schools" indexes. The city also excelled in "Local and International Connectivity" and "Ease to Get a Visa."

In the Middle East and North Africa, Dubai led in all main categories, standing out in areas like a preference for local and remote work, investment, living, retirement, education and tourism.

Dubai moved up four places in the Global City Index this year, now ranking as the world's fifth-best city brand. The city has made notable progress, ranking first worldwide for Reputation, ahead of Sydney and London.

The emirate also saw a major improvement in appeal for both local and remote work opportunities, rising from 24th to 4th place. Dubai is recognized as the second most significant city globally, surpassing London.
