Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met Norway Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre to discuss bilateral relations and explore ways to improve cooperation in areas important to both.

The focus of their discussion was on boosting economic, trade, and investment partnerships, especially in sectors like energy, infrastructure, advanced technology, renewable energy, air transport and scientific research, WAM reported.

During the meeting, several agreements for cooperation between the two countries were signed and exchanged. One agreement was made between the General Civil Aviation Authorities of the UAE and Norway to improve air transport services. This aims to support trade and tourism between the two nations and increase the movement of passengers and cargo.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between Khalifa University of Science and Technology and the Arctic University of Norway - Tromsø, to promote academic cooperation and research in areas like artificial intelligence, climate action, circular economy and renewable energy.

Furthermore, the agreement aims to expand research efforts to tackle climate change challenges, especially in regions impacted by climate change, such as the Arctic and Antarctic.

Aside from this, several other agreements and MoUs were announced during the meeting, all focused on boosting economic cooperation between the two countries to benefit their mutual interests and fulfill the goals of both nations' leaders and people.

One important agreement was a strategic cooperation deal between ADNOC and Equinor. This agreement explores ways to use their combined expertise in carbon capture and storage, low-carbon hydrogen, and the marketing and trading of low-carbon oil and gas.

Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC (Masdar) also announced that it has signed a Strategic Framework Agreement with Equinor.

This agreement aims to strengthen their collaboration on ongoing projects like the Hywind Floating Wind Farm in Scotland, while also looking for new opportunities and enhancing the supply chain for current and future projects.

Masdar also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Yara to look into collaboration and investment opportunities in the Power-to-Green Ammonia value chain, focusing on Green Hydrogen.

Moreover, the UAE's global renewables company signed an MoU with ICP Infrastructure, an infrastructure fund manager supported by the Aker Group.

This agreement aims to explore partnership and investment opportunities in green energy infrastructure in Europe, including possible collaborations in renewable energy in the Nordic Region.

Another MoU was signed with Aker Horizons Asset Development to investigate joint development and investment opportunities in the Power-to-Green Hydrogen value chain, to reduce emissions in hard-to-decarbonize sectors.
