UAE, France Explore Expanding Partnership In AI And Beyond

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE and President Emmanuel Macron of France discussed their strong and long-standing partnership, exploring ways to expand cooperation, especially in artificial intelligence, the economic, investment, and cultural fields.
During their meeting at the Élysée Palace, the two leaders also talked about working together on climate action, energy, advanced technology, and other areas that support their shared goals for sustainable development and growth, WAM reported.
Both presidents discussed their cooperation under the UAE-France Framework Agreement, which includes plans to invest in a 1GW AI Campus in France. They expressed their commitment to building a strong AI partnership and explored ways to work together on projects that support the AI industry.
This includes investing in AI development in both countries, securing advanced computer chips, improving data center infrastructure, training AI talent, and creating Virtual Data Embassies to strengthen AI and cloud technology in both nations.
The two leaders also discussed regional and global issues, sharing their views on key developments. They emphasized the need for continued dialogue and cooperation to promote peace, stability, and solutions to global challenges.
Al Nahyan emphasized that the UAE and France are committed to using artificial intelligence responsibly for global progress. They also work together to protect world heritage and collaborate on other shared interests.
He also spoke about the strong relationship between the UAE and France, highlighting their cooperation in many areas, especially energy and climate action. He mentioned that both countries have had a Comprehensive Strategic Energy Partnership since 2022 and launched the UAE-France Bilateral Climate Investment Platform last year.
The large-scale projects and infrastructure plans under the AI agreement reflect the strong and growing relationship between the UAE and France. Both leaders agreed to closely follow the progress of these AI collaboration projects in the future.
Macron hosted a dinner to honor the UAE president and his accompanying delegation that included the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Advisor to UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan and Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi.
Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Advisor to the UAE President for Strategic Research and Advanced Technology Affairs Faisal Al Bannai and Chairman of the President's Office for Strategic Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei were also a part of the delegation.
