The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) has launched the second phase of its LPG safety awareness campaign under the slogan "Your Safety is Our Priority." The initiative, timed to coincide with the start of the holy month of Ramadan, seeks to educate the public on the safe use of LPG, emphasizing the importance of adhering to regulations to safeguard lives and property.

With increased cooking activities during Ramadan, the campaign reminds households, restaurants, and kitchens to follow safety guidelines. It also encourages collaboration between the government and private sectors to spread awareness and ensure a secure environment across Abu Dhabi, WAM reported.

The campaign targets various groups handling LPG systems, including laborers, domestic staff, employers in industries like restaurants, and labor recruitment companies.

Saif Saeed Al Qubaisi, Acting Director General of Regulatory Affairs at the DoE, emphasized the department's commitment to a sustainable energy sector while ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all Abu Dhabi residents.

"We firmly believe that the safety of the community is paramount in all aspects of LPG handling. With this campaign, our goal is to ensure that all organizations and individuals adhere to safety protocols and implement the required standards and conditions," Al Qubaisi said.

"This necessitates ongoing collaboration with all relevant parties to prevent accidents or potential hazards. Our collective commitment to upholding these standards helps build a more secure society and promotes the long-term sustainability of the sector as a whole," he added.

Ahmed Alsheebani, Acting Executive Director of the DoE's Petroleum Product Sector, highlighted the importance of the LPG Safety Campaign in promoting safe gas usage, especially during Ramadan when consumption increases.

He emphasized the need for awareness workshops and training programs to reduce risks associated with LPG use. He also stressed that the campaign's success depends on collective community efforts.

Restaurants and employment agencies are encouraged to provide proper training to workers, helping to improve safety practices and promote public well-being.

The campaign includes spreading awareness through various media outlets and social media platforms. These messages encourage Abu Dhabi residents to follow safe gas usage practices at home and work, ensuring their safety and the well-being of their families.

This came just a few days after the fourth edition of Investopia (Investopia 2025) kicked off in Abu Dhabi to shape the future of global investments and modern financing trends in sustainable industries.
