AIQ, a subsidiary of Presight, has secured a major $340 million contract with ADNOC to implement artificial intelligence (AI) solutions across its upstream operations. This follows the successful completion of a proof-of-concept phase.

Under the three-year agreement, AIQ will introduce ENERGYai and other AI technologies to enhance efficiency and optimization in ADNOC's upstream sector. ENERGYai is developed using 70 years of industry data and expertise, WAM reported.

It combines large language model (LLM) technology with advanced AI designed for specific tasks within ADNOC's upstream operations. ENERGYai improves efficiency and accuracy in key tasks such as seismic analysis, geological modeling, and real-time process monitoring.

ENERGYai speeds up essential business processes, reducing completion time from months to days, while also cutting costs and lowering emissions.

ADNOC Upstream CEO Musabbeh Al Kaabi said the company aims to become the leading AI-driven energy company by using artificial intelligence to improve efficiency and create value in its operations.

The company plans to collaborate with AIQ to expand the use of ENERGYai across its upstream business, strengthening its role as a reliable energy supplier for global markets. ENERGYai will use large language models to allow engineers to interact with ADNOC's proprietary data, enhancing productivity and uncovering new insights and opportunities.

Magzhan Kenesbai, Acting Managing Director of AIQ, said this contract marks a "defining moment for AIQ. In partnership with ADNOC, we have developed a world-first agentic AI solution that is scalable across the entire energy value chain and has the potential to transform the industry as we know it."

"We are proud to see ENERGYaimove from a successful proof-of-concept to full deployment, enabling ADNOC to unlock unparalleled efficiencies, reduce carbon intensity, and advance their sustainability ambitions. This achievement reflects our commitment to delivering innovative, high-impact AI solutions that not only meet the challenges of today but also shape the future of energy," Kenesbai added.

ENERGYai, developed by AIQ with ADNOC experts in collaboration with G42 and Microsoft, will integrate best-in-class technologies, including Azure cloud stack, agentic AI platform functionality, Open Subsurface Data Universe framework (OSDU), and OpenAI models.

Presight CEO Thomas Pramotedham expressed pride in AIQ's agreement with ADNOC, highlighting Presight's role as the major shareholder. The company is committed to supporting AIQ's growth as it continues to innovate and create value for the energy industry and its shareholders.

Agentic AI is seen as the future of AI development and integration. Through collaboration between Presight, AIQ, and ADNOC, the UAE is taking a leading role in advancing AI technology. ENERGYai is recognized as a world-class solution that will set new standards for innovation and excellence in the field.
