The Endowments and Minors' Trust Foundation in Dubai (AWQAF Dubai) and Community Development Authority (CDA) have partnered to launch the "SANED" initiative via Dubai's Community Contributions Platform, Jood. The initiative aims to create a sustainable charitable fund to help low-income families.

The funds raised from this endowment will be used to help meet the food needs of families registered with the CDA. The endowment includes a residential building in Dubai South, featuring 40 apartments across five floors along with parking spaces.

Valued at AED30 million, the project is expected to generate an 8% return, which will provide AED 1,000 SANED cards to families in need for purchasing essential food items.

The "SANED" initiative encourages government and private organizations, as well as businesspeople and philanthropists, to take part in this sustainable charitable effort. Contributions will help provide SANED cards to eligible families, making sure their food needs are met regularly.

The SANED card initiative, launched by AWQAF Dubai, enables beneficiaries to buy items at participating stores using the card. To date, 3,000 SANED cards worth AED3 million have been given out to help families in need.

"The SANED initiative embodies the values of cooperation and solidarity that are deeply ingrained in our society," Hessa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority (CDA), was quoted as saying by WAM.

"By establishing this charitable endowment, we seek to collectively work to meet the food needs of vulnerable groups, including orphans, widows, senior citizens, people of determination, and low-income citizens. Our shared goal is to improve their quality of life and help alleviate the challenges they face," she added.

AWQAF Dubai Secretary-General Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa praised the successful collaboration with the CDA, highlighting that this partnership enhances charitable and endowment efforts in the emirate.

He also expressed confidence that the community would support the SANED endowment through contributions through the Jood platform. The initiative aims to create a lasting investment to fund SANED cards, providing ongoing food support to those in need.

Al Mutawa emphasized that the "SANED" endowment is a community project open to contributions from all parts of society. The project promotes social solidarity and humanitarian cooperation, giving everyone a chance to help those in need.
