Dubai Crown Prince Approves New Policies To Boost Housing, Education And Legal Sector

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved new policies and initiatives designed to boost affordable housing, improve education, and support independent legal professionals in Dubai.
In endorsing these initiatives, Sheikh Hamdan stressed that Dubai's success as a global city is rooted in a vision focused on empowering individuals, families, and communities. This vision ensures equal access to opportunities, fosters talent, strengthens national identity and values, promotes knowledge, and encourages entrepreneurship.
"Shaping the future and pursuing sustained growth through empowerment has long been a guiding principle for Dubai — it is a vision we continue to follow under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai," the crown prince was quoted as saying by WAM.
"We are realising this vision through cross-sector collaboration, ensuring Dubai remains the destination of choice for the most ambitious global talent," he added.
The crown prince announced the approval of Dubai's Affordable Housing Policy, which involves the allocation of 1.46 million square meters of land for affordable housing. This initiative will result in the construction of 17,080 residential units.
The goal is to offer a range of housing options and foster an inclusive, prosperous society that embraces diversity. Additionally, he approved a new policy aimed at improving Arabic language and Islamic studies in private schools as part of the Dubai Education Strategy 2033.
This initiative seeks to strengthen national identity by instilling key values from an early age. It encourages collaboration among educators, experts, and parents to ensure students receive a solid foundation in these subjects.
The policy also focuses on enhancing school curricula, modernizing learning tools, and supporting the professional development of Emirati teachers. Dubai's Affordable Housing Project aligns with the city's 2040 Urban Master Plan and aims to provide quality housing for skilled professionals.
The first phase will develop six sites in Al Mueisim 1, Al Twar 1, Al Qusais Industrial 5, and Al Leyan 1, offering affordable rental units with access to essential services. The project will be managed by the Supreme Committee for Urban Planning and implemented by key government departments.
A new education policy aims to position Dubai among the world's top cities for education quality by improving Arabic language and Islamic studies.
It includes modern teaching methods, enhanced collaboration between schools and parents, and initiatives like the Dubai Protocol for Curriculum Enhancement and the Emirati Teacher Recruitment Program. The KHDA will oversee its implementation across private schools.
Additionally, a new initiative will allow Emiratis to offer independent legal counsel in real estate and personal status law. The pilot program, managed by the Legal Affairs Department, will provide opportunities for Emirati professionals, retirees, and remote workers.
Applicants must meet experience and training requirements before participating in the one-year trial phase.
