Dubai Future Foundation Partners With Artificial Intelligence Centre Hamburg To Boost AI Innovation

Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Artificial Intelligence Centre Hamburg (ARIC) to boost AI innovation and strengthen international collaboration.
This partnership will allow European AI businesses to test their technologies in Dubai's regulatory sandbox, promoting knowledge exchange and helping the emirate advance as a global AI hub. The agreement marks the first time Sandbox Dubai has partnered with an international organization.
ARIC, one of Europe's leading AI centers, brings together experts from business, science, and society to share AI knowledge. Under the MoU, DFF and ARIC will work together to connect AI innovators and deep-tech companies from the UAE and Germany, WAM reported.
The MoU was signed by Abdulaziz AlJaziri, Deputy CEO and Chief Operations Officer of DFF, and Alois Krtil, CEO of ARIC.
AlJaziri emphasized that Sandbox Dubai is designed to enhance Dubai's regulatory and innovation ecosystem by identifying new opportunities, encouraging innovation, and collaborating with government and private sector partners to develop forward-thinking regulations.
He also highlighted DFF's goal of introducing Sandbox Dubai to global markets and promoting international collaboration in regulatory innovation. The initiative aims to support talented individuals and entrepreneurs while helping companies develop and launch new products in Dubai, positioning the city as a global business hub for pioneering technologies.
Krtil said that this partnership will serve as a platform for experts, business leaders, and policymakers from both nations to exchange insights and experiences in applying AI within regulated testing environments.
The collaboration will focus on building connections within the innovation community, carrying out joint initiatives for knowledge and technology exchange, and promoting best practices through shared learning programs.
DFF will offer access to Sandbox Dubai, a platform designed to support businesses in experimenting with their products and services within a controlled setting, accelerating the integration of emerging technologies.
Introduced in 2024 as part of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), the sandbox aligns with the emirate's objective to expand its economy twofold over the next 10 years.
Last week, Dubai Land Department announced that the emirate will host "PropTech Connect 2026," the world's largest real estate technology conference and exhibition.
