The 17th edition of ArabPlast, an international trade exhibition for plastics, recycling, petrochemicals, packaging, and rubber industries, kicked off Tuesday at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The event will run until Thursday, featuring more than 750 exhibitors from 35 countries across the Arab region, Europe, and Asia. The exhibition will also feature pavilions from over 12 countries.

Exhibitors from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Austria, China, Egypt, Germany, Italy, India, South Korea, Switzerland, Vietnam, and Jordan are among participants.

"The event is of great importance as it presents a diverse range of products, technologies and solutions that shape the future of the plastics, petrochemicals and rubber sectors in the region," Exhibition Director Nidal Mohammed Kadar was quoted as saying by WAM.

The exhibition highlights the crucial role of Gulf countries, Arab nations, and the Middle East in the global plastics and petrochemicals industry, supported by their abundant natural resources.

Taking place in Dubai — a hub for cutting-edge technologies in plastics, recycling, petrochemicals, packaging, and rubber — the event highlights significant global growth in these industries. It also emphasizes the Gulf Cooperation Council countries' leadership in manufacturing and innovation.

As the largest exhibition for plastics and petrochemicals in the Middle East and North Africa, ArabPlast is held annually in Dubai, bringing together manufacturers from the Gulf, Arab countries, and beyond.

The exhibition showcases the latest advancements in the plastics and petrochemical sectors while exploring future trends and introducing new products aimed at promoting environmental awareness and sustainability.

Oman Sadiq Al Lawati, Executive Director of Polymer Marketing at OQ, who is the main sponsor of the exhibition, noted that the event is held annually in Dubai as a global platform to showcase the latest technologies and present them to major countries worldwide.

Farah Abdul Hamed, the exhibition's media director, highlighted the increasing number of participants and exhibitors from the UAE and the region each year, reflecting the event's growing importance for stakeholders in the plastics, recycling, sustainability, petrochemicals, packaging, and rubber industries.

She added that "ArabPlast 2025" is expected to draw over 10,000 visitors during its three-day duration, underscoring the event's expanding significance year after year.
