Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has established eight UAE-based and international industrial centers - in less than one year under commercial agreements signed through its In-Country Value (ICV) program. These new facilities have not only contributed more than AED 700 million to the economy but have also created 800 job opportunities for UAE citizens.

The agreements signed under the program also support ADNOC's goal to locally produce AED 90 billion (US$24.5 billion) worth of products by 2030, WAM reported.

This is part of ADNOC's commitment to the "Make it in the Emirates" initiative, which aims to boost local manufacturing, create business opportunities within its supply chain, and bring significant economic benefits back to the country.

Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) and Chairman of the National ICV Program Committee, said that MoIAT is launching various initiatives and plans to achieve the goals of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology.

These efforts aim to strengthen the UAE's global industrial position, enhance the competitiveness of the country's industries, and increase the industrial sector's contribution to the national GDP.

He highlighted that one of the key initiatives by the Ministry is the National ICV Program, which focuses on directing procurement to benefit the national economy.

The program has been very successful, with membership expanding to include 31 federal and local government agencies and major national companies. By the first half of 2024, companies certified under the National ICV Program had invested AED 205 billion.

During the same period, there was a 66% increase in national spending by organizations involved in the program, directing over AED 48 billion into the national economy compared to the first half of 2023.

"Within the framework of ADNOC's program to enhance national content, and its support to the Make it in the Emirates initiative, ADNOC has successfully enabled local and international companies to establish eight new industrial facilities in the country in less than a year with a commercial value of more than AED700 million," Al Suwaidi said,

"This will contribute to the creation of job opportunities in the country, in line with ongoing efforts to support the National ICV Program," he added.

Rashed Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), also praised the impressive growth of ADNOC's ICV program and its role in creating jobs for UAE talents, attracting FDIs, and advancing the industrial sector.
