The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) signed an agreement to work together on digital transformation, AI governance, and new policies for public administration in the Arab world.

This partnership highlights MBRSG's role as a leading academic institution in policy research and government leadership. It aims to support government innovation and data-driven decision-making. It also strengthens MBRSG's efforts in regional collaboration, training, and research on digital governance, artificial intelligence, and advanced technology.

As part of the MoU, MBRSG and UNDP will set up a joint platform for research and training. This will include accredited programs designed to equip policymakers with essential digital and AI skills.

The MoU was signed during the World Governments Summit 2025 by Abdallah Al Dardari, Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States, and Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG, WAM reported.

Al Dardari emphasized the importance of this collaboration, highlighting MBRSG's role in supporting government innovation, policy development, and capacity building in the Arab region. He stated that the partnership would help improve AI governance, ensuring a sustainable digital transformation and strengthening governments to handle future challenges.

Al Marri reinforced MBRSG's commitment to future trends in development and governance. He explained that the institution aims to equip Arab governments with the skills and tools needed to adapt to artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

The partnership focuses on key areas such as training, research, improving digital governance and AI policies, creating AI ethics evaluation frameworks, studying AI's role in sustainability, and developing guidelines for ethical AI use.

It also aims to strengthen global cooperation in AI and digital transformation. It seeks to enhance skills in these fields and support policies and innovations in trade, finance, technology, and sustainable economic growth.

This aligns with the UAE's digital vision and long-term development goals. MBRSG remains committed to training government leaders, developing advanced digital policies, and attracting global talent to drive economic progress.

The World Governments Summit 2025 started in Dubai on Feb. 10 and runs until Feb. 13 under the theme "Shaping Future Governments."
