New Sharjah-Based Humanitarian Foundation Launched To Protect Vulnerable Kids Globally
Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, announced the launch of the "Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation" on Sharjah Radio's "Direct Line" program. This independent global humanitarian foundation is based in Sharjah and aims to protect and help children worldwide, especially those affected by conflicts, natural disasters, and poverty.
Al Qasimi said that the foundation honors Sheikh Khalid's legacy, reflecting on the commitment to creating a safer world for children in conflict zones, demonstrating their dedication to humanitarian efforts.
She also mentioned that the foundation will work with local groups and communities and partner with global humanitarian organizations to protect children's rights in vulnerable areas around the world.
"The strong sense of community and social support in Sharjah has demonstrated the role a cohesive society plays in realizing aspirations and dreams across all spheres," she said, according to WAM.
"This understanding of our collective responsibility towards one another serves as a driving force, as we firmly believe that the betterment of the world begins with the enhancement and unity of communities," she added.
According to the foundation's principles, "communities flourish when families are resilient and united, ensuring every member, especially children, feels profoundly safe and secure. A child at risk undermines community resilience, while a nurtured, protected child enriches it," Al Qasimi said.
She went on to share that a cohesive community forms the cornerstone for stability, progress, and the cultivation of noble ambitions, values, and principles; unlocking the full potential of humanity.
The Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation - guided by the directives of Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah - is committed to making this vision into reality.
"Childhood represents a time of innocence, requiring unwavering love, care, and protection. When we embrace and support a child, it is akin to embracing the entire world – for saving one child means safeguarding entire communities and, by extension, the future of humanity," Al Qasimi said.
She highlighted the foundation's strategy, revealing that it will collaborate with different groups to improve policies and fill gaps in protecting children's rights. Furthermore, it will also support efforts to stop child exploitation and rights violations.
The foundation will also team up with NGOs to research and raise awareness about children's rights.
