Abu Dhabi Investment Office Partners With Ignite Energy Access For Global HQ Expansion

The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) partnered with Ignite Energy Access, a pan-African company specializing in Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) solutions, to set up its global headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
Ignite Energy Access uses its technology platform to develop and manage solar energy solutions across sub-Saharan Africa. The company aims to provide clean and sustainable electricity to 100 million people in the region by 2030, WAM reported.
Under a multi-year agreement, ADIO will support Ignite Energy Access in expanding its operations and extending its regional and global footprint. This collaboration further reinforces Abu Dhabi's position as a key hub for clean energy innovation.
"Through strategic partnerships and advanced technologies, Abu Dhabi continues to strengthen its role as a global hub for investments. Our collaboration with Ignite reinforces this vision, solidifying the emirate's position at the forefront of the energy transition," ADIO Director-General Badr Al-Olama said.
"By fostering innovation, attracting pioneering companies and accelerating sustainable investment, we are developing a future-ready economy, capable of delivering transformative solutions to the world's most pressing challenges," he added.
The relocation of Ignite Energy Access to Abu Dhabi is expected to create more than 200 high-skilled jobs in fields such as technology, finance, and supply chain management. In addition to job creation, the company will launch a knowledge transfer program, partnering with Abu Dhabi universities to offer internships, specialized training, and industry collaborations to develop local expertise.
Through this partnership, Ignite Energy Access will expand its operations across Africa, including solar home systems, solar-powered irrigation, hybrid solar inverters, and commercial and industrial solar projects.
The company will also extend its solar-powered digital connectivity solutions, bringing internet access to remote communities for the first time. As part of the collaboration, Ignite Energy Access will introduce its advanced solar technologies to the UAE.
It plans to set up standalone off-grid solar projects for rural communities, sustainable farming, and eco-friendly transportation and construction.
Ignite Energy Access CEO Yariv Cohen highlighted that Abu Dhabi offers strong support for large-scale clean energy solutions. He stated that the company is not only setting up its headquarters, but also taking advantage of Abu Dhabi's innovation platform to expand renewable energy globally.
He emphasized that Ignite Energy Access shares Abu Dhabi's goals of promoting net-zero strategies, encouraging innovation, and making a lasting positive impact on the environment.
