The organizing committee of the Sharjah Real Estate Exhibition (ACRES) announced Tuesday that the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) has decided to reduce property transaction fees during the event next year.

This move was expected to give a massive boost to the emirate's real estate sector. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and chairman of the SEC approved the fee reduction for sale and purchase transactions at the event, WAM reported.

This initiative was aimed to strengthen Sharjah's position as a top destination for real estate investment. The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, will host the event from Jan. 22 to 25 at Expo Centre Sharjah.

The exhibition will feature developers and investment companies presenting innovative projects and offering special deals. As part of the SEC's decision, there will be a 0.5% reduction in selling fees for developers and discounts on purchase fees -- 1% for UAE and GCC citizens and 2% for other nationalities.

This initiative will increase sales, attract more investors, and strengthen Sharjah's real estate market. The event will also showcase new projects and trends, reinforcing Sharjah's position as a key player in the global real estate industry.

In a separate event, the chairman of the Department of Government Relations (DGR) in Sharjah, Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, met with a German delegation led by the Director of the Goethe-Institut Gulf Region Claudia Römmelt to discuss cultural and educational cooperation.

They explored ways to improve German language education in Sharjah's cultural institutions, organize workshops and training programs, and collaborate on cinema and performing arts projects. These efforts align with Sharjah's goal of fostering cultural exchange and embracing global experiences.

Römmelt's visit was important as it highlighted her role in leading cultural projects and German language education programs, and building cultural partnerships across the region. She has managed initiatives across the Gulf, including the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar, focusing on promoting cultural dialogue and knowledge sharing.

The Goethe Institute plays a key role in supporting German language education and cultural exchange in the UAE. It organizes workshops and training programs in literature and the arts. By working with Sharjah's cultural institutions, the institute helps strengthen cultural ties, encourages dialogue, and promotes mutual understanding between different cultures.
