The World Governments Summit 2025 started in Dubai on Monday and runs until Feb. 13 under the theme "Shaping Future Governments." The event will bring together leaders, experts, and organizations from around the world to discuss the future of governance.
The first day, known as Day Zero, will include important forums such as the Arab Fiscal Forum, the Arab Meeting for Young Leaders, and the Young Arab Leaders Forum. These sessions will feature key officials, decision-makers, and visionaries, focusing on major global and regional challenges.
Day Zero will include the Arab Meeting for Young Leaders, a platform that brings together decision-makers and Arab youth to collaborate. This event actively involves young people at every stage, from planning and execution to participation and attendance, WAM reported.
The meeting is organized in partnership with the Arab Youth Centre and supported by both government and non-government organizations at local and regional levels. These partners believe in the importance of youth and their potential.
Sessions at the meeting will cover a variety of topics, including "Arab Youth Competitiveness Index: Thriving in a Rapidly Changing World," "The Vision of the League of Arab States," "The Art of Etiquette: An Arab Perspective," "The Last Drop of Oil: Seizing Opportunities," and "Made in the Arab World."
The 12th edition of the World Governments Summit is seeing a record level of global participation. It includes over 30 heads of state and government, more than 80 international and regional organizations, and 140 government delegations.
Experts and thought leaders will discuss key global trends through more than 200 interactive sessions with over 300 speakers worldwide. The summit will also feature over 30 ministerial meetings and roundtables, attended by more than 400 ministers, providing a platform for high-level discussions on governance and policymaking.
One of the key events is the 9th Arab Fiscal Forum, organized by the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Ministry of Finance.
The forum will focus on creating fair and effective financial policies to address debt challenges and economic pressures. Discussions will cover important topics such as subsidy reforms, tax administration, and public sector enterprise reforms.
