Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs, has launched the 16th edition of Abu Dhabi Art. The event is organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism.

This edition is being held under the patronage of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, WAM reported.

Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, emphasized the importance of Abu Dhabi Art in establishing the emirate as a dynamic cultural hub. The fair serves as a platform to connect Abu Dhabi to global artistic discussions, promoting creativity and supporting local talent, while contributing to the growth of a vibrant creative industry in the UAE.

The event highlights Abu Dhabi's increasing influence in the cultural and artistic sectors, fostering cultural exchange. It also strengthens the commitment to supporting artists, positioning the emirate as a global center for arts, culture, and innovation.

Sheikh Theyab toured the Abu Dhabi Art Fair, exploring galleries and pavilions from around the world. The fair includes 102 galleries from 31 countries, showcasing over 1,500 artworks. It aims to bring communities together through the shared power of art and culture.

This year marks the event's largest edition, with 42 new galleries participating for the first time, including those from Qatar, Kuwait, and Kazakhstan. Emirati artist Mohamed Kazem has been selected as the Fair's Visual Campaign Artist, honoring his significant contributions to the UAE's art scene.

Sheikh Theyab called the fair a major cultural event that enriches Abu Dhabi's artistic landscape. He recognized its role in advancing the art movement locally, regionally, and globally, fostering cultural dialogue, and promoting artistic exchange.

He also praised the fair for showcasing the UAE's artistic culture, reflecting its national identity's authenticity and Emirati heritage's richness. Sheikh Theyab praised the Abu Dhabi Art Fair for its role in promoting cultural exchange and supporting art and creativity.

He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in establishing Abu Dhabi as a global cultural hub and a source of inspiration for artists and creators around the world.

The event, running until Nov. 24, 2024, at Manarat Al Saadiyat, lasts for four days and is a key platform for art lovers.

It brings together over 100 local and international galleries, offering a chance to experience a wide range of cultural and artistic works while supporting the local art community and strengthening cultural connections.
