Abu Dhabi's ADQ Establishes Arcera To Dominate Life Sciences Sector Globally

Abu Dhabi-based investment and holding company ADQ has launched a global holding company Arcera, a new global holding company focused on the life sciences industry. Arcera is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and aims to become a leading player in the healthcare sector by providing products that enhance the quality and longevity of human life.

With the help of ADQ's current assets in this sector, the launch of Arcera is poised to establish a global life sciences powerhouse. This strategic move not only supports Abu Dhabi's 2030 Healthcare Life Sciences Vision but also bolsters the UAE's goal of becoming a global leader in science and technology.

"By consolidating our life sciences companies under one umbrella, Arcera signifies a strategic evolution, unlocking substantial portfolio value and reinforcing our commitment to innovation, globalization and digitization, which are key growth levers in this industry," Hamad Al Hammadi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of ADQ, was quoted as saying by WAM.

Arcera, consisting of over 6,500 employees and selling in 90+ countries across four continents, aims to provide innovative solutions for longer and healthier lives. Moreover, it also offers 2,000 branded medicines across various therapeutic areas like neurology, gastroenterology, cardiovascular, pain relief, rheumatology, and anti-infectives.

The company operates manufacturing and packaging facilities in seven locations worldwide, including the UAE, Switzerland, Ukraine, Estonia, South Africa, Türkiye, and Egypt.
