Bain & Company introduced the Sustainability Readiness Tool in partnership with the World Governments Summit (WGS) to help organizations evaluate and improve their sustainability efforts.

The tool is based on Bain's research, including last year's LEAD report, which studied how businesses in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) are incorporating sustainability into their operations, WAM reported.

Bain's research shows that while nearly 70% of organizations in MENA have adopted sustainability practices, only 3% are on track to meet their goals. This gap highlights the need for practical insights and strategic actions, which the new tool aims to provide.

Samer Bohsali, Senior Partner and EMEA Leader of the Public Sector practice at Bain & Company, said that the Sustainability Readiness Tool offers organizations a clear method to evaluate their sustainability progress and follow global best practices.

He emphasized that as global sustainability challenges grow, it is important for organizations to take strong and timely action. The Sustainability Readiness Tool is based on Bain's research on what makes organizations successful in sustainability.

Using its LEAD Framework, Bain identified four key factors that set sustainability leaders apart including linking sustainability ambitions to corporate strategies, Engaging cross-functional teams, activating achievable sustainability missions, driving innovation, and rapidly scaling sustainable business solutions.

Wissam Yassine, partner and leader in Bain & Company Middle East's Sustainability practice, called the tool a major step in helping businesses manage sustainability challenges.

He noted that while many organizations understand the importance of sustainability, few have a clear plan to achieve their goals. The tool provides insights and comparisons to help close this gap.

The AI-powered tool includes 27 questions that assess an organization's sustainability readiness. It provides a benchmarking analysis, allowing businesses to compare themselves with industry leaders.

After completing the assessment, users receive a detailed report with practical recommendations to improve sustainability across their operations. A key feature of the tool is its ability to offer businesses a structured way to compare themselves with top industry leaders in sustainability.

The tool helps businesses analyze how leading companies integrate sustainability into their operations, supply chains, and strategies. This allows them to identify gaps, prioritize impactful initiatives, and align with global sustainability standards.

As sustainability becomes a global priority, the tool offers organizations AI-driven insights and Bain's expertise to accelerate their progress and align with international sustainability goals.
