Dubai Culture Chairperson Inaugurates 'Introducing Zayed National Museum' Exhibition
Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) and Member of the Dubai Council, inaugurated on Sunday the "Introducing Zayed National Museum: The Foundations of Unity" exhibition at the Etihad Museum.
The exhibition, organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Zayed National Museum in collaboration with Dubai Culture, will continue until Dec. 5, 2024.
Rashid Al Maktoum highlighted the importance of this exhibition, noting that it showcases the United Arab Emirates' rich history and vibrant culture.
"The exhibition stands as a crucial educational resource, enriching future generations with cultural knowledge and serving as a comprehensive record of our tangible, intangible and cultural heritage," she said, WAM reported.
Furthermore, this exhibition will also shed light on the foundational milestones of the country, especially on the historical moment of Feb. 18, 1968, when the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum laid the cornerstone for the UAE's establishment.
She explained that the exhibition will help to strengthen Emirati culture as it fills the gap between the vibrant past and the evolving present of the country.
"It plays a vital role in introducing residents and visitors alike to our nation's culture, rich history, regional connections, and fostering a sense of national identity among our youth," Rashid Al Maktoum added.
Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak highlighted that the former President of the UAE helped to shape the country's identity and left an inspiring legacy behind as a guiding blueprint to promote and safeguard Emirati heritage.
"This exhibition that honors leadership, diplomacy, and unity will showcase how Zayed National Museum will shed light on the collective history, culture and stories of the UAE and its people," Al Mubarak added.
Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan died in November 2004 and currently, his son, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is serving as president of the country.
Talking about the exhibition, it will consist of several panel discussions and dialogues, focusing on the importance of the union in the founding and development of the UAE.
