The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) bagged the "Digital Initiative of the Year" award for the Ramadan Heroes initiative and the "Campaign of the Year" award for the Dubai Calligraphy Biennale in the Culture and the Arts category at the GovMedia Conference & Awards.

The event, hosted in Singapore, highlighted the significant impact of Dubai Culture's initiatives and their reach across all parts of society. Dubai Culture is dedicated to blending innovation with heritage, enhancing its role in Dubai's cultural development.

The Ramadan Heroes initiative - launched in 2020 - is a unique virtual charitable project. Created with strategic partners, it showcases a new approach to humanitarian work.

"Dubai Culture remains committed to its societal and cultural responsibilities, and to enhancing the quality of life in Dubai while demonstrating the values of Emirati community benevolence and humanity," Hala Badri, Director-General of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority said, according to WAM.

He explained that the Dubai Culture aims to "elevate the emirate's unique environment and demonstrate its vast capabilities in attracting creatives and talented individuals," noting that these awards reflect its excellence on the local stage.

Badri further said that the Authority's dedication to improving its performance and achieving milestones is unwavering, adding that fostering a culture of innovation remains a top priority.

Shaima Rashid Al Suwaidi, Director of the Marketing and Corporate Communication Department at Dubai Culture, said these awards show the importance of the projects Dubai Culture implements via various initiatives and programs.

Dubai Culture "seeks to embody the essence of its cultural mission and its role in activating the local creative movement, alongside its commitment to cultural and societal responsibilities," Al Suwaidi said.

She noted that the Dubai Calligraphy Biennale has helped to position Dubai on the global map and showcased its dedication to preserving the art of calligraphy.

On the other hand, the Ramadan Heroes initiative emphasized the value of giving and tolerance, which is aligned with Dubai's aspirations and vision to be a global hub for humanitarian work.

The GovMedia conference takes place every year, highlighting distinguished government projects and initiatives that contribute to improving the region's population.
