Dubai is set to host the Arab Tourism Media Awards for the year 2024, organized by the Arab Union for Tourist Media. The event will be held on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market from May 6 to 9 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Sabah Allal, President of the Arab Union of Tourist Media, who will be honoring the winners, said Tuesday that the main goal of this event is to boost tourism across Arab countries and highlight prominent tourist destinations.

Furthermore, the awards will also attract more tourists and help hotels in Arab nations by encouraging excellent service. Allal mentioned that this year's participation period began on Dec. 1 and went on for 30 days.

"Many Arab tourism entities were nominated for the awards whose judging committee was chaired by Dr. Lamiaa Mahmoud from Egypt," he was quoted as saying by WAM.

Arab Tourism Media Awards 2024 winners were announced by the Arab Union of Tourist Media at a press conference during the International Tourism Exchange in Berlin (ITB) in March, revealing a total of 34 Arab personalities, tourism institutions, and cities awarded.

The union noted that Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Morocco, Kuwait, and Iraq achieved the highest number of awards during the event.

The Arab Tourism Media Awards is one of the most esteemed events in the Arab world. The ceremony recognizes individuals, institutions, and media outlets for their contributions to the tourism industry, including hotels and tourist destinations.

Such honors are given to support and boost Arab tourism while encouraging the entities to perform better in the upcoming years.

Last month, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai honored the Dubai Government Excellence Awards winners at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The winners included 12 government entities and eight individuals. Sheikh Mohammed praised the Dubai Government Excellence Program, launched 27 years ago, for recognizing the outstanding performance of Dubai's government officials.
