Dubai New Year's Eve: City Employs 1,800 Personnel For Residents' Safety, Venues Complete Preparations

Burj Khalifa and other venues around Dubai have ensured the public that their facilities will be safe and secure during the New Year as the city completes preparations for the Jan. 1 festivities.
The Dubai Municipality announced on Friday that venues have designated staff and specific personnel to ensure that all facilities are safe and clean for various festivities to welcome 2023, The Khaleej Times reported.
In the Burj Khalifa alone, 84 employees have been secured for the New Year. Of the said staff, 32 are supervisors, who will be dedicated to ensuring that everyone at the site enjoys their New Year events.
Furthermore, working teams from the municipality will oversee security in the Burj Khalifa and other venues to ensure that health and safety regulations are followed.
For the New Year's Eve festivities in Dubai, more than 1,800 supervisors and field observers will be deployment to ensure that staff fulfil their duties for residents and tourists celebrating in Dubai.
Aside from a workforce dedicated for New Year 2023, about 10,000 smart cameras have been installed across the city to monitor roads during the celebrations, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said.
The Burj Khalifa will be hosting a fireworks show late on Dec. 31 to ring in the New Year.
Residents and visitors can see the show through public viewing areas in Downtown Dubai, Gulf News reported.
The following areas have been designated as access points for the Burj Khalifa fireworks show: Opposite Address Boulevard, Opposite Address Downtown, Behind Burj Vista, Near Emaar Square and Behind Downtown Command Centre.
Aside from the Burj Khalifa, there also other landmarks that will hold their own fireworks shows on New Year's Eve, including Burj Al Arab, Bulgari Resort Dubai, Sofitel Dubai The Palm, Jumeirah Beach, Park Hyatt Dubai, Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort, The Dubai Frame, JBR, The Beach and Bluewaters.
Drone shows are scheduled for 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. at The Beach, JBR and Bluewaters on Dec. 31. The said shows will be available for viewers at no cost.
Finally, award-winning singer Enrique Iglesias will perform at Naamos, and Kylie Minogue will lead a concert at Atlantis, The Palm during New Year's Eve.
In a bid to help ease traffic during New Year's Day, the RTA also said free public parking will be implemented Jan. 1, with the exception of multi-storey parking facilities. Paid parking will resume the next day.
