The Ministry of Economy signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ADNOC to improve the digital transformation of the National Economic Registry ('Growth' platform) and expand its network of partners.

The "Growth" platform connects over 46 entities across the country and features the Unified Economic Number (ERN), which links data between federal and local government bodies and licensing authorities, WAM reported.

The platform allows users to access information on any commercial license in the country, covering more than 2,000 economic activities and facilitating smoother electronic transactions.

The signing took place during the first edition of the Abu Dhabi Business Week at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), held from Dec. 4 to 6.

The MoU was signed by Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Entrepreneurship and Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, and Saleh Al Hashimi, Director of ADNOC's Commercial and ICV Directorate.

The MoU will improve cooperation between the two organizations, focusing on digital connectivity. It will create a framework for sharing information, collecting data, and increasing efficiency by following approved methods and best practices.

The two parties will also work together to combine their databases and share knowledge, expertise, and successful experiences. This will help develop the skills and capabilities of the teams on both sides.

The partnership will help integrate data and statistics, improving digital connectivity between the two organizations. Al Nuaimi explained that the partnership with ADNOC supports the ministry's goal of improving digital integration through the "Growth" platform. He described this as an important step in strengthening the country's digital infrastructure and promoting economic growth.

Al Nuaimi said that the partnership will help improve data quality and create innovative ways to analyze and use it effectively, which will improve operational efficiency and ensure adherence to global standards. He also highlighted the importance of cooperation between the government and private sectors in achieving these goals.

In October, the Ministry of Economy launched the National Economic Register, the largest and most reliable database for all commercial licenses held by businesses across the seven emirates. The register streamlines the process of starting a business and engaging in economic activities through a single national portal.
