Ramadan 2023: UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Wishes Muslims 'A Blessed Month Of Reflection'

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has expressed his well wishes to the people of the Emirates and the world as the Muslim community observes this year's Holy Month.
In his Ramadan message, he called for "peace and harmony" as he wished the Emiratis and Muslims around the world "a blessed month of reflection."
"As the holy month of Ramadan begins, I wish you all a blessed month of reflection and pray that God continues to grant peace and harmony to the people of the UAE and the world," he tweeted on Wednesday.
Earlier that day, Sheikh Mohamed had exchanged Ramadan greetings with Arab heads of state to ring in the Ramadan season, including Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Jordan's King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, Egypt's Abdul Fatah el-Sisi and Tunisia's Kais Saied.
During their phone conversations, the UAE president and his fellow Arab leaders reportedly exchanged well wishes for continued prosperity in the Arab and Muslim nations. They also prayed that God may bless them with firmness to prevail across the world.
Meanwhile, Dubai Ruler and UAE Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also took to Twitter to share a similar message for the Emiratis and Muslims across the globe on Wednesday.
"All congratulations to the people of the Emirates and to all the Arab and Islamic peoples on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan. May God bring it back to us and you with goodness, mercy, security and faith. May God accept from us and from you the good deeds," he wrote.
The UAE's Moon-sighting Committee announced on Tuesday that Wednesday would be the 30th day of Sha'ban and that Thursday would be the official first day of the Holy Month of Ramadan in the country. Muslims across the country held their Fajr morning prayer early Thursday morning, marking the beginning of their daily fasting.
Ramadan is considered one of the holiest months for the Muslim community and is marked by a period of daily fasting. This year's Holy Month will be observed by 2 billion Muslims around the world.
