The third edition of Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Security Week (ADAFSW) will be held from Nov. 26 to 28 this year at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), featuring international participation from policymakers and leading global companies in the sector.

The event will be held under the directives of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA).

This edition, organized by ADNEC Group in collaboration with ADAFSA and the Food and Beverage Manufacturers Group (FBMG) as the Knowledge Partner, will include specialized exhibitions and conferences such as the third edition of ADIFE 2024, the 10th edition of ADDPE 2024 and the first Global Food Security Summit.

The summit is expected to bring together government officials, policymakers, top experts, and specialists to discuss how the agriculture and food production sector can be improved. The week's activities will also feature new events to showcase the latest global technologies in agriculture and food production.

Saeed Al Bahri Salem Al Ameri, Director General of ADAFSA, noted that this edition of ADAFSW reflects Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed's commitment to enhancing food security both locally and globally and supporting sustainable economic development.

The event "will solidify the emirate's position as a leading global center for innovation in agriculture and food security, attract foreign investment to the sector, and open up new horizons for international trade," he said, according to WAM.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, said the ADAFSW agenda aims "to keep pace with national programs that ensure food abundance within an integrated food security system by showcasing the latest technologies and innovative applications to enhance sustainable food production."

Saleh Lootah, Chairman of FBMG, expressed his pride in the strategic partnership with ADAFSA and ADNEC to organize the inaugural Global Food Security Summit, which will be held on Nov. 26 and 27.

Dr. Abdul Wahab Zayed, Secretary-General of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, highlighted the vital role of ADDPE in showing the importance of dates in the national economy of producing countries and their key role in food security.

Earlier this week, Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), said the UAE is dedicated to working with BRICS countries on joint food security projects and increasing food trade among member nations.
