UAE Astronaut Sends Eid Al-Adha Greetings While In Space: 'Goodness And Blessings'

UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi sent out his Eid Al-Adha greetings to his Muslim brothers while at the International Space Station (ISS).
"Eid atmosphere at the International Space Station. I congratulate everyone on the advent of the blessed Eid al-Adha. May God bring it back to us and you with goodness and blessings," Al Neyadi captioned his tweet on Wednesday as translated by Khaleej Times.
The video tweet showed Al Neyadi wearing UAE's national outfit, the Kandura while in space. The astronaut held UAE's mascot for the space mission, Suhail while greeting his 112,600 followers on Twitter.
Al Neyadi describes himself in his Twitter profile as a flight engineer of Expedition 69 – the longest Arab space mission in history. Together with his crewmates and Suhail, the group was launched on the space mission from the Kennedy Space Centre on March 2, 2023. The flight crew is spending six months aboard the ISS.
His unique greeting has been retweeted nearly 2,000 times. Some of his followers returned his positive greetings.

While in space, Al Neyadi has shared several photographs which he took during the mission.
The Astronaut shared a captivating view of the holy city of Makkah on Tuesday in commemoration of Arafat Day.
"Today is Arafat Day, a pivotal day during Hajj, that reminds us that faith is not just about belief, but also action and reflection. May it inspire us all to strive for compassion, humility, and unity. Here's a view of the holy site of Mecca 🕋 that I captured yesterday," he captioned his tweet.
The beautiful photo has garnered nearly 2,000 likes and 461 retweets.
One follower who was captivated by the photo replied, "Hajj Mubarrik Lovely Boy. May Allah be with you in all your future endeavors. Stay blessed Brother and thank you for sharing these lovely posts."
On Monday, AlNeyadi took his followers on a virtual tour of the Russian Section of the ISS.
"As I promised.. I will take you on a tour of the Russian section of the International Space Station. I will introduce you to the first unit of the station that was sent to space, and we pass through the laboratories, the places where the vehicles dock, and the place from which my colleague Hazaa entered the station in 2019,' he said in the tweet which was translated by google.
In April, AlNeyadi became the first Arab to perform a seven-hour-long spacewalk outside the ISS.
