The Sharjah Airport International Free Zone Authority (SAIF Zone) utilized its participation in SIAL Paris 2024 to attract foreign investments and encourage more food sector companies to set up operations in Sharjah.

The event, which took place in Paris over the weekend, attracted thousands of exhibitors and visitors from around the world. As part of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) delegation, SAIF Zone used this important trade event to strengthen Sharjah's position as a top global hub in the food industry.

Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of SAIF Zone, highlighted that SIAL Paris 2024 was a great opportunity to showcase the free zone's advantages, such as its modern infrastructure, strategic location, and the incentives and facilities available to investors, especially in the food sector.

"SAIF Zone's advantages have become a key magnet attracting more leading international companies, particularly as the UAE continues to focus on developing the food and agriculture sector to boost its contribution to GDP by $10 billion," Al Mazrouei said, according to WAM.

"We're committed to providing a comprehensive package of investment incentives and attractive facilities. From logistics services to dedicated spaces for manufacturing and storage, we ensure that everything is in place for our partners to thrive, while also maintaining high-quality services that meet the unique needs of the food industry, helping our investors succeed, and positioning Sharjah as a key player on the global stage," he added.

He mentioned that the UAE's food trade has grown massively, increasing by 20% in the first half of 2024, which indicates a rise in investments in the food industry.

Al Mazrouei also stated that SAIF Zone's participation in the exhibition was intended to support the UAE's efforts to achieve food security, which is aligned with the National Food Security Strategy 2051.

During its participation, SAIF Zone showcased its significant growth and expansion opportunities, making it an attractive destination for companies looking for a strong investment environment. The free zone emphasized its plans to create specialized industrial areas designed for investors in the food supply chain.

SIAL Paris 2024, the largest and most important food industry exhibition in the world, celebrated its 60th anniversary with a strong international presence.

Last week, UAE's Minister of Climate Change and Environment Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak visited Abdulrahman Al Shamsi's farm to support the agricultural goals, improve food security, create new partnerships with the private sector, and increase green spaces across the country.
