Representatives of the governments of the United Arab Emirates and Azerbaijan explored strategic partnerships to foster the exchange of government experiences at the Ministerial Experience Exchange Forum that concluded in Baku on Thursday.

The two-day forum was attended by ministers and senior officials from both sides, and leaders participated in several ministerial dialogues as part of a program of more than 20 sessions and meetings. The goal of this forum was to boost cooperation and communication between government leaders, and also promote the exchange of experiences and success stories from each side.

Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and The Future, who was a part of the UAE delegation, emphasized that the relations between the UAE and Azerbaijan are strong and recalled that the UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited Azerbaijan in January this year where several agreements were signed and activated.

"In line with the UAE leadership's vision, the government has made shaping the future a strategic priority. Today's rapid global changes have made it clear that emerging trends have a critical role in shaping our future," she said, according to WAM.

"The world is entering a new era defined by new trends, such as digitalization, technological advancement, smart public services and government accelerators, and sustainability," Al Roumi added.

Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations, who was one of the representatives of Azerbaijan, said that the relations between the two nations are on an upward trajectory.

"Economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UAE has reached new horizons, especially in the field of green energy. Our partnership represents a forward-looking, proactive approach to development in various areas of common interest," Mehdiyev said.

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director-General of Community Development Authority in the Government of Dubai (CDA), highlighted the key objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, noting that traditional social services won't be able to sustain in this rapidly evolving world. Therefore, the UAE's approach is to focus on strengthening social cohesion and bolstering the economy through strategic investment, Buhumaid said.

The forum covered various topics, including economic diversification and investment, ecology and green energy to ensure low-carbon economies, education, health, social wellbeing, public service and innovation, regulatory frameworks, and creating a business-friendly environment in both Azerbaijan and the UAE.
