Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will be the first sitting UAE president to make an official visit to Washington

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister of India, co-chaired the Fourth India-UAE Strategic Dialogue in New Delhi.

In his speech, Al Nahyan thanked Jaishankar and the Indian representatives, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the UAE and India, WAM reported.

The UAE Foreign Affairs Minister expressed gratitude to Jaishankar for his dedication over the past decade in strengthening ties, acknowledged their shared achievements, and emphasized the commitment to pursuing even greater goals, building on their strong foundation, and exploring new opportunities for mutual benefit.

He highlighted the importance of the India-UAE Strategic Dialogue, noting that it shows the deep and evolving relationship between the two nations. He stressed their shared goal of fostering prosperity and sustainable progress.

Al Nahyan expressed confidence in the future of the partnership, which has grown significantly in recent years. He pointed out notable progress in key areas such as trade, education, and energy and expressed hope for continued success.

The UAE minister highlighted the growing bilateral trade between the UAE and India, attributing its success to the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). This agreement has reduced barriers and strengthened trade, investment, and collaboration in key sectors.

He said that recent high-level visits by leaders of both nations have reinforced their commitment to deepening cooperation. These efforts reflect the importance of open dialogue and meaningful engagement, laying a strong foundation for innovation and sustainability to ensure a prosperous future.

Al Nahyan also underscored the focus on nuclear energy as part of a shared vision for a low-carbon future and a sustainable energy transition. Furthermore, he pointed to a joint polar research initiative as an example of their collaboration in addressing global challenges, such as resource management, climate change and technological advancements.

He also mentioned the importance of the air transport link between the two nations, pointing out the hundreds of weekly flights that connect them. This strong connectivity supports tourism, trade, and overall bilateral ties, setting the stage for even greater cooperation in the future.

"These fields will empower us to push boundaries, lead pioneering advancements, and tackle critical challenges with both agility and foresight. We also acknowledge bilateral efforts in developing digital infrastructure, a vital foundation for progress and connectivity," Al Nahyan added.

The UAE delegation at the Strategic Dialogue included several key officials, including Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashemi, Minister of State Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Lana Zaki Nusseibeh.

Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs Saeed Mubarak Al Hajri, Assistant Minister for Advanced Science and Technology Omran Sharaf, Assistant Minister for Energy and Sustainable Affairs Abdulla Balalaa and UAE Ambassador to India Dr. Abdul Nasser Al Shaali were also a part of the delegation.
