The Dubai Police on Thursday celebrated the graduation of the first female land rescue team batch, consisting of 18 non-commissioned officers at the state level. The graduation ceremony featured several training scenarios, rescue operations for road accidents, firefighting, opening vehicle doors, using rescue equipment, and deploying aerial balloons.

The ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police,

Al Marri congratulated the members of the rescue team on their graduation from special training courses, highlighting Dubai Police's commitment to supporting women in security and military roles by improving their skills through both classroom and hands-on training.

He said that this training helps boost the female team's ability to perform its duties effectively and equip them to handle emergencies with expertise.

"Emirati women play a crucial role in the country's development across various sectors, including security and policing. We are proud to have qualified the first team of female members who will work alongside their male colleagues in land rescue operations," he said, according to WAM.

"Their presence not only demonstrates their qualifications and ability to tackle challenges but also significantly enhances the overall effectiveness of the police system," he added.

Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commandant for Operation Affairs, also congratulated the female graduates and recognized their ability to handle incidents well. He praised the 18 graduates for their impressive skills and commitment during training in rescue and recovery operations.

The graduates appreciated Dubai Police's support for their training, which shows the force's commitment to empowering women in security and policing roles.

This ceremony came just a few days after Mouza Mohammed Al Suwaidi was appointed as Secretary-General of the UAE Gender Balance Council by the UAE Cabinet.

Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Gender Balance Council, said the new appointment reflected the leadership's commitment to supporting Emirati women and developing national talent.

The Gender Balance Council President also emphasized the importance of utilizing women's skills to boost the UAE's global competitiveness and drive innovation across various fields.

Last week, Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council and ETHER by Cloud Spaces together launched six new brands created by Emirati female entrepreneurs to empower women in the retail industry, both in the UAE and abroad.
