The Federal Public Prosecution on Thursday announced the creation of a new digital system based on artificial intelligence to improve and speed up its processes.

The announcement comes after the Federal Public Prosecution signed a partnership agreement with AI71, a company that develops AI solutions for both the government and private sectors and is part of the Advanced Technology Research Council.

The agreement was signed at the Office of the Attorney General and the Federal Prosecutions in Abu Dhabi by Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, Advisor to the UAE President for Strategic Research and Advanced Technology, and UAE Attorney General Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, WAM reported.

This system, the first of its kind in the UAE, is part of the prosecution's plan to use advanced digital technology in criminal justice, promote innovation, and prepare for the future. It is aligned with the UAE government's focus on digital transformation.

The new digital system uses artificial intelligence to improve how investigations are conducted, make criminal justice more efficient, and provide legal support to ensure accurate and effective court decisions. The goal is to achieve faster and more efficient criminal justice.

The new digital system has been specially designed to support the UAE's criminal legal system, but it can also be adapted for use in different legal systems around the world.

It allows for detailed legal research, such as analyzing and reorganizing the facts of criminal cases, making notes on images, audio recordings, and videos, transcribing them, and quickly retrieving information and legal principles related to the cases and past criminal cases. It also presents legal opinions, making legal processes much simpler.

Al Shamsi mentioned that launching this innovative project is an important step toward achieving the Public Prosecution's vision of using advanced technology and AI to improve the speed, efficiency, and transparency of the criminal justice system.

Al Bannai highlighted that the UAE has established itself as a global leader in artificial intelligence, becoming a hub for creativity, innovation, and technology. This success comes from the country's ongoing efforts and clear vision to enhance digital transformation in all sectors, including the judicial sector.

He noted that this cooperation will create a new vision for legal innovation in the region by using AI in criminal justice, which will help improve the country's judicial system. He expressed his pleasure in working with the Federal Public Prosecution to develop this innovative project.
