The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) hosted a seminar called "The Potential of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on the Economic Transformation of GCC Countries," which was held at MBRSG's headquarters in City Walk, Dubai, and organized by the Economic Research Forum.

The event brought together experts and decision-makers from around the world to explore how Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies can shape the future of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, WAM reported.

During the event, the discussions focused on smart industries, smart cities, entrepreneurship, and the future job market.

The first session of the day discussed how Industry 4.0 and Artificial Intelligence can help grow and diversify the economy in the GCC. The speakers focused on the energy and tourism sectors. They looked at how technologies like AI, the Internet of Things, Virtual Reality, and digital twins can improve efficiency, make things more sustainable, and enhance the experience for visitors.

The seminar continued with a keynote speech by Prof. Wim Naude, who is associated with Aachen University, the African Studies Centre at Leiden University, the International Security and Development Centre, and the University of Johannesburg. His speech was titled "Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence, and Entrepreneurship."

The opening session of the seminar included key speakers: Managing Director of the Economic Research Forum Dr. Ibrahim Elbadawi; Executive President of MBRSG Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri; Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari; and Director-General and Chairman of the Board at the Arab Monetary Fund Dr. Fahad Alturki.

Dr. Hassan Aly, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Economic Research Forum, moderated the session.

Al Marri said that it is important to keep working and communicating with well-known organizations, research centers, and top academic institutions from around the world. This includes the Economic Research Forum, which they are currently hosting at their headquarters in Dubai.

He mentioned that both organizations share the same ambitions and goals and are dedicated to providing platforms where the latest global economic trends can be discussed, their impact on the region examined, and useful recommendations and ideas developed.
